TimeBanks USA (TBUSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and implementation of time banking, an alternative currency system used in the exchange of community services.
TimeBanks USA’s system, Community Weaver, was in need of maintenance, support, and major bug fixes. We provided these services over the many months that we worked with TimeBanks USA, as well as managed hosting, business auditing and security review services, and we planned major upgrades to their technical architecture.
Together with the Greater Los Angeles Drupal user group, we also helped organize and staff several community barn raisings to provide much needed features and training for the Echo Park Time Bank, one of TimeBanks USA’s chapters located in Los Angeles, California.
TBUSA hired the Larks to rework a new version of our highly complex Community Weaver software (previously proprietary, not open source.) The new version was failing on every front to perform to expectations.
The Larks team first undertook a security audit of the new version, provided an estimate to address the security problems, and were hired to do that work. We then contracted with the Larks to fix the most serious problems with the program’s functionality.
All members of the Larks team, from the principals to the project leader to the programmers demonstrated that they cared deeply about the quality of the work undertaken. Under challenging circumstances, they provided highly professional services to TBUSA.
